About COR™ 2020 Certification

To achieve your COR™ 2020 certification, you must complete an external audit, two internal self-audits and a third-party COR™ audit of the workplace. This is where we come in.

Mapping

At STS Group, we strongly believe in the idea of creating a process plan that has a beginning and an end. We call it mapping.

Most businesses have a lengthy health and safety manual. With a closer examination, one will find that many of the health and safety policies are not actively being implemented in the workplace. Either because it is not needed, or because it is too complex. As businesses grow and change, a health and safety plan must adapt accordingly.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is the goal of your HSMS plan?
  • Do our policies support your health and safety management system?
  • Are we continually assessing for workplace hazards? What controls are in place?
  • Does the HSMS plan meet the legislative requirements?
  • Is there adequate documentation?
  • Does our company culture conflict with the health and safety plan?

STS Group will map your health and safety program, which will allow us to understand your health and safety management needs.

COR™ 2020 Certification

A Certificate of Recognition (COR) helps assure your clients that your company truly values health and safety for everyone in the workplace. Prove your commitment to safety and achieve a more competitive position in the industry.

The Certificate of Recognition (COR™) is currently being used by employers engaged in construction across Canada as their Health and Safety Management System (HSMS). It is trademarked and endorsed by the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA). While the program is voluntary, COR™ is often required to bid for construction projects in some public and private sectors. This certificate is valid for a period of three years, as long as internal audits are completed for the second and third years.
